New Zealand Knights Sack Coach Nevin
The New Zealand Knights have sacked coach Paul Nevin, paving the way for former England international Alan Ball to take over the reigns at the last placed Knights.
A member of England's 1966 World Cup winning squad, Ball has been constantly linked with the Knights in the New Zealand press in recent week's.
I certainly don't understand why.
The 61 year old Ball has has had, at best, limited success as a manager in stints with some of Europe's most powerful clubs in Portsmouth, Manchester City, Southampton, Stoke, Exeter and Blackpool.
Director of football Barry Simmonds, will be interim coach for Sunday's match against the Central Coast Mariners at North Harbour Stadium.
