Adelaide Utd cruise past Perth Glory
Adelaide United packed too many guns for the Perth Glory posting a comfortable 3-2 win over the visitors atHindmarsh Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Adelaide was stunned early as Perth grabbed a 1-0 lead through imi Saric in the 14th minute before hitting back through Carl Veart and Greg Owens before another case of inventive officiating when Matthew Breeze decided to give a penalty to the Perth Glory on the stroke of half time for no apparent reason other than he saw something that didn't happen.
Having had a bet on this game for Adelaide to lead the game at half time and finish the game with all three points, you're guess is correct, i'm far from happy when people are given a whistle that are somewhat out of their depth.
Officials are always people who couldn't play the game at any great level yet enjoy the game. Great, only problem is when they get that whistle in their hot little hand they think they actually know something about the game.
The standard of officiating in this country is of greater concern than the standard of play.
A bloke can't say the F word during a game yet you have officials making up calls.
This penalty is a classic case of incompetence.
Rule 1. If you don't see it don't give it.
Rule 2. If you do see it then blow your whistle.
Rule 3. Don't guess.
Rule 3 is really important for officials to comprehend because with the advent of television replays, viewers can see when you are making it up as you go.
Earlier, the New Zealand Knights FC stunned the Queensland Roar FC 1-0 to record their second win of the season.
