Hyundai A-League week 10
week 10 of the Australian A-League kicks off tonight with the Melbourne Victory a short priced favourite to continue on their winning way when they take on the New Zealand Knights in Auckland. The Victory bounced back from their first loss of the season with a hard fought win over Sydney FC last week.
Sydney FC has problems of their own with coach Terry Butcher under pressure to retain his job. The former England international has his D-Day on Sunday when Perth Glory and Sydney meet at Aussie Stadium. Hollywood star Anthony LaPaglia has already tried to get Butcher sacked last week and nothing short of victory against the Glory will see Butcher remain at the helm of the defending champions.
Adelaide United tackle a rejuvenated Newcastle Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Saturday night. The Jets have posted two straight wins since appointing Gary Van Egmond as senior coach. Their bubble could burst here though with Adelaide welcoming back marquee player Shengqing Qu.
Queensland Roar FC will be looking to boucne back to the winners list after being upset by the Jets last week. They take on the Central Coast Mariners at Suncorp Stadium in a clash that could well prove season defining for both clubs with 11 games of the regular season remaining.
