Carbone keen to return

Sydney FC has confirmed Benito Carbone could be back in Sydney colours soon with both parties at the table discussing financials of the pending deal.

Carbone scored twice in three games for the defending Hyundai A-League champions before his four game guest stint came to an end with a hamstring injury.

The return of Carbone would be a welcome boost for underfire coach Terry Butcher who this week had his job confirmed until the end of the season, despite being on a two year contract.

Hollywood star and part-owner Anthony LaPaglia tried to have Butcher sacked at a board meeting.
