Rodriguez shines for Jets
Colombian import Milton Rodriguez made a big impact for the Newcastle Jets after coming off the bench to replace the injured Vaughn Coveney.
The 30-year-old who was picked up from Korean side Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors announced his arrival with a first half injury time goal.
The fleet footed striker bagged his second in the 62nd minute when he beat a disappointing effort by Clint Bolton at the near post.
While the Jets deserve credit for their revival, the performance of referee Matthew Breeze was once again the low light for what was an entertaining game.
Breeze sent off Sydney’s Steve Corica in the 67th minute for dissent, fair dinkum is this under 12’s?
Corica received a straight for allegedly calling Breeze an “effing cheat”, The referee only needs to blow his whistle and say, “Yellow card for dissent, open your mouth one more time and your off.”
