A-League Round Four

The Australian A-League continues this weekend with round 4 action kicking off tonight when the second placed Queensland Roar host the New Zealand Knights at Suncorp Stadium.

The Roar has already secured a 1-1 draw and a 2-1 win over the Knights in the Hyundai A-League Pre-Season Cup and get the chance to consolidate their good start to the new season. With tough trips to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth ahead, this is a must win game for Miron Bleiberg's men.

Adelaide United hosts Perth Glory at Hindmarsh Stadium Stadium on Saturday night with the local side expected to make it back to back wins after breaking their duck last week with a 5-1 win over the misfiring Jets.

Perth was lucky to hold on for a 1-1 draw at home to a depleted Sydney outfit last week after the linesman ruled Steve Corica was offside when he put the visitors back into the lead.

Sydney FC tackle the Newcastle Jets at Aussie Stadium in the first of two Sunday games. Newcastle boss Nick Theodorakopoulos is already under pressure after the Jets have started the new season with a draw and two losses.

New recruit, Colombian Milton Rodriguez, has been selected to play as the Jets look to bounce back. Sydney has already beaten the Jets twice in the preseason cup competition and will be keen to bounce back to the winners list against the last placed Jets.

Round four of the A-League ends with the league leading Melbourne Victory out to maintain their 100% record when they host the Central Coast Mariners at Olympic Park. While the Victory has been scoring goals for fun in entertaining matches, the Mariners are yet to open their account after three games.

The Mariners beat the Victory 3-1 in the preseason competiton at olympic Park, Can they do it again and snare their first three pointer of the season?
