Jets chase Collymore
Struggling A-League club the Newcastle Jets have made an audacious bid to land former Former Liverpool and England striker Stan Collymore as a guest player.
The 35 year old Collymore retired in 2001 after a failed bid, that lasted five weeks, to revive his career at Spanish club Oviedo.
Collymore's Agent Simon Kennedy said Collymore was lukewarm to the idea of an A-League appearance saying his client preferred a return to the English top flight.
Kennedy said, "Stan is a busy boy but what he would really be interested in is Premiership football,"
"He believes he can still ply his trade at the highest level."
