CBC Wins 2010 AND 2014 World Cup rights

CBC Wins 2010 and 2014 World Cup rights with a deal with FIFA, football's world governing body. This deal also includes the 2007 World Under-20 Championships to be held in Canada for which CBC will act as host broadcaster.

CBC beat a rival bid from a CTV-Rogers consortium. A multicultural station with national distribution, will act as its broadcast partner.
