Knights held by Jets

27th August

Sunday saw the New Zealand Knights FC and the Newcastle Jets FC play out a scoreless draw at North Harbour Stadium in their opening Hyundai A-League clash.

Former Leeds United player Danny Milosevic got the nod from coach Paul Nevin to start in goal ahead of Michael Turnbull.

Neither keeper had much to do in this affair with both sides struggling in the final third of the park.

The Knights pushed in vein in the closing minutes for a first ever win at home but failed to break through a resolute Newcastle back four.
