Central Coast Mariners

Central Coast Mariners highlight of last season were to knock out Adelaide in the  Preliminary Finals and went on to meet Sydney FC in the Grand Final.

Despite the disappointment of losing the decider after dominating one half of football against the A-League's benchmark in Sydney FC, the league's achievers sought deserved smiles about beating the odds to reach this far.

Midfielder Andre Gumprecht was the architect of much of the Mariners attacking raids, but even he was unable to convert - his close-range shot which drifted wide in the sixth minute Central Coasts' best chance of the game.
