Welcome to Aussie Football
This website is dedicated to Australian Football. In Australia there are four football codes, the Australian Rules Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Football (previously known as Soccer).
The Football league is called the Hyundai A-League according to the current sponsorship deal. The A-League is only two years old and replaced the old National Soccer League. The decision to start a new league came at the right time. Success in the World Cup has been a huge boost to Australian Football and the A-League.
Australian Rules Football, Rugby League and Rugby Union will be featured on this site later this year. But till then we offer our readers the latest A-League news and A-League results. So enjoy your stay and enjoy the game!

World Cup Australia
When the Australian World Cup Team, the Socceroos, reached the knockout phase for the first time in history in Germany 2006 the popularity of the game soared. As many of the other sports have lost their mass appeal football has kept kept on going. Football is now as popular, or even more popular, than Australian Rules and Rugby League and Rugby Union. This is quite remarkable and shows the potential of the football league and sponsorship in Australia.
A section of this site is dedicated to the World Cup 2006 and Australia's preparation for the next World Cup in South Africa in 2010. Any news on Australia's bid to host the World Cup 2018 will also be closely monitored.
